PILLS Requirements

Connie & Maria

Discussion

Attend monthly meetings.  Funding will not be awarded to students if they do not attend meetings.  Participation in service activities is not a requirement this year.

Maria then described the points that will be allocated for service projects.  Points will be added up and used to determine a scholarship at the end of the year.

Maria then described that ½ points will be awarded for non-service activities such as writing articles and bringing refreshments.

She also pointed out that planning of projects will be awarded some points depending on the project itself.

Rather than requiring a certain number of service projects, these points will be used to have students participate in service projects.

APhA Operation Immunization

Jenna, Jake & Erica

Discussion

Jenna described that we will have an advocacy campaign getting people to go out and get people to get their shots, or not.  Screen people who may or may not need a shot.

The second phase will consist of helping out the clinics and giving drug information about the immunizations and record keeping.

Jenna then asked for students to volunteer to help plan the operation immunization.  Jenna asked for volunteers to sign up in the “coke” room on the poster.

Jenna then shared that there will be an online signup sheet online for participating in the OI.
