Frequently Asked Questions about Admission to the School of Pharmacy
How do I apply to the Wingate University School of Pharmacy? The
Wingate University School of Pharmacy is very excited to announce its
affiliation with PharmCAS, a centralized online service that provides an easier application
process for prospective pharmacy students.
To complete an application, simply access the website www.pharmcas.org
for instructions. Your application, PCAT scores, transcripts, PharmCAS fee and
letters of recommendation will be
submitted directly to PharmCAS. Once your application is complete,
PharmCAS will send your completed folder to Wingate University. The
student is still responsible for having the supplemental application,
supplemental fee and a current
photo sent directly to the School of Pharmacy.
SUPPLEMENTAL
APPLICATION AND FEE: Students must submit
the supplemental application and a $25.00
supplemental fee directly to the School of
Pharmacy. To download the supplemental
application, please click
here. Applications will NOT be
considered until the supplemental application
and fee have been received.
LETTERS OF
RECOMMENDATION: Students must submit three
letters directly PharmCAS (please see directions
on PharmCAS for more details).
Examples of academic references include professors, teaching assistants, or academic advisors. Examples of professional references include employers, volunteer organization
personnel, or others with whom you have interacted in a professional context.
PHOTOGRAPH:
A current passport photo should be sent to the
school to be placed in the applicants folder.

INTERVIEW PROCESS: After a preliminary assessment of the applicant pool, the most qualified applicants are invited for a personal interview
at Wingate University with members of the Pharmacy Admissions Committee. Telephone interviews are not permitted. Competitiveness is determined by an evaluation of an applicant's
grades, particularly in the prerequisite courses, and all application materials. During the interview, applicants are evaluated in a variety of areas including motivation,
communication skills, personal characteristics, critical thinking/decision-making
abilities and knowledge of the profession of pharmacy and issues affecting health care.
Interviewed candidates are ranked comparatively on criteria that include academic preparedness, effective communicative and interpersonal skills, cognitive skills and aptitude
for the professional program.
