Becoming a Preceptor

Early Practice Experience (EPE) occurs during the first two years of the program. Students train one or two half-days a week for a full semester in a community pharmacy (year 1) and in a hospital pharmacy (year 2).

Advanced Practice Experience (APE) occurs during year 3 as three half-days a week in a patient care setting. During year 4, students complete nine 5-week full-time rotations. Internal medicine, ambulatory care, advanced community practice (2), hospital practice, and long-term care pharmacy are required rotations.   The APE program begins in August, 2005, with full-time rotations commencing in May, 2006
